Rain, Sweet Rain!

After a week of over 100 degree weather, we were so thankful for the dramatic thundershowers we had yesterday, which produced some much needed rain!

Along with the lightning and loud cracks of thunder, the rain came in an absolute downpour! I took this photo from under the shelter of our front porch. You can see the rain sheeting off the eaves of the house. In the space of about an hour, we received over half an inch!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving.....
Who covers the heavens with clouds,
Who provides rain for the earth,
Who makes grass to grow on the mountains."
Psalm 147: 7-8
Beautiful, beautiful rain. We got some rain yesterday, too, about a half inch, and it is was a good steady rain. I pray for more and I just might get it!
Boy can I relate to that! But the picture of your green house, in the rain mist, is still a beautiful photo.
Will you give us a virtual tour of your greenhouse sometime? : )
Beth - Sometime....yes. ;-) Maybe when it is less messy, ha. Since it's too hot to use now, it has become a storage spot for pots and flats of all shapes and sizes.
How lovely Mom. I love angle this picture was taken at. And I can almost smell the rain.
I really like being able to see the greenhouse in the background - it gives place and mood.
Nice capture of the rain. We had some really heavy rain here yesterday and it provided some much needed water to my garden.
I love the greenhouse in the background of your photo. I wish I had one.
Luckily over here we had 2 days of glorious sunshine after weeks of rain. Today, however, it's raining again. Can I be excused for not being all that happy about it? ;-)
Hi, we have had two weeks of rain and two weeks of sun which has been beautiful. Last night we had some showers which were welcome though. The picture is beautiful. Loved it. Have a nice weekend, Andrea
I'm glad you received much needed rain - we could use some here too! Isn't it fun how everything just perks up after a good rain?
