We were gone for the weekend visiting our daughter and family. Upon our return home I was pleased to find the first ripe cherry on my Sweet 100 tomato plant!
I had to exercise some restraint in order to take the photo first, before popping it into my mouth! Number 2 ripe cherry tomato goes to hubby. . . a family tradition. ;-)

It looks delicious, and I am jealous. No ripe tomatoes for me so far.
And I've noticed that everyone seems to have a tradition around what they do with the first, or second, ripe tomato.
aren't cherry tomatoes just great. mine are still green. anxiously awaiting the first one.

Great photo. My friend brought round some tomatoes that self seeded from what I planted for her last year. Lucky for me she is on this "eat right for your blood type" diet that says she can't eat tomatoes.
Also like the sundown, i was just reading the catalog at burpee.com this evening.
It looks good enough to eat! My favorite, right off the vine. Sadly.... we don't grow many tomatoes in Juneau. Seasons aren't long or warm enough. Enjoy one for me! Nancy
Oh lucky you. I don't have any ripe tomatoes yet. The first ones will probably come when we are on vacation. :)
It looks delicious, did it taste it too? ;-) Excellent tradition BTW. :-D
It's when I read about everyone's first tomato, that I wish that I had gotten my plants in sooner! Enjoy!
