A Passion for Pollen

I am always pleased each year when the Cosmos begin to bloom. It is the classic summer flower!

This bee looked to be quite smitten with this pink Cosmos bloom, and was tightly hugging the center of the flower. :-)

The family reunion is over, and it went beautifully. We have spent some time this week at our favorite campground upriver, in our very favorite campsite, on a bend of the river.....with the sound of rushing water relaxing us in the day and lulling us to sleep at night. It has been wonderful therapy, after some very busy weeks!

Once again a picture is almost as good as a visit to your garden. It is magnificent to see God's creation at work! And your relaxing sounds simply divine.

beautiful picture. I planted cosmos for the first time this summer. they are lovely with their airy foliage and delicate blooms. they will likely become a permanent fixture in the garden. So easy to grow and so eager to bloom.
Cheers.

Great photos Connie. I love my cosmos too. They require little to no maintenance and always look "friendly" in the garden. I'm definitely planting them again.

I grew dwarf cosmos this year for the first time in a long while. I agree, they are nice. And come in so many colors now. That bee looks happy!

That is such a beautiful picture Connie - glad you're managing some time for some R&R - the place you describe sounds just idyllic... I could do with some of that right now! Enjoy... MIranda

I grew white Cosmos this year, mixed in with 'Envy' zinnias, which are green. They have just started blooming last week.

I also grew Cosmos sulphureus, which is always amazing. I love Cosmos!

My double click cosmos just started blooming. It's cool. Have you heard the buzz about the disappearing bee population? I wrote about it on my blog.
