Cottage Garden Seeds Giveaway

Today is the last day of February. How can this be?? The first two months of the year have zipped by so quickly! I have been taking a break from blogging, so this is actually my first post for 2010....but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy gardening! I've enjoyed shopping and ordering from a number of seed catalogs, and have winter sown plants sprouting outdoors, as well as several types of pansies and rudbeckias growing under lights, indoors. The pansies will be moved out to the greenhouse soon, and in a couple weeks it will be time to start peppers and petunias!

Photo above taken in my Cottage garden a couple of summers ago.
(Note: Flowers here not representative of those included in the seed giveaway).

In order to get back into the swing of blogging again, I thought I would begin with a Giveaway of a package of Cottage Garden flower seeds. All of the seeds have been saved from my garden. They are mostly self-sowing annuals....my favorite category of flowers. :-) If you would like to be entered into the drawing for the seeds, simply leave a comment on this post (including your email address, if you don't have one linked to a blog). I will do the drawing at 12 noon on Monday, March 15th, post the winner, and mail the seeds out shortly after.

Included in this mix are seeds of the the following flowers:

Bachelor Buttons
Calendula (various kinds)
California Poppy (orange and cream)
Cosmos (Pinks, whites, and bi-colors)
Cosmos (tall Orange)
Corncockle
Dairy Pink
German Catchfly
Larkspur
Nigella
Poppy, Shirley
Silene
Rose Campion (biennial)
Mountain Garland
Wild Lupine (perennial)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
These will do well sown in a sunny spot, without much fuss. The flowers that bloom will provide you with plenty seeds for next year, or you can just let the plants drop their seed, for a yearly show of Cottage flowers. Happy Growing!
What a beautiful photo of your summer garden! It might be nice to have a winter break~~I imagine the anticipation of spring is so exhilerating with all your seedlings ready to go in the ground (or greenhouse).
That is a wonderful seed collection you are offering... what fun it would be to try some of them here... so many miles (and zones) away.
Well, darlin', it is good to have you back! A few of my winter sown flowers are up, and I'm ready to plant tomatoes because a flock of Bohemian Waxwings. a few Grosbeaks and robins stopped in this weekend to nibble on the apples left on the trees last summer. I'm ready too!
I can't help but get excited for Spring after seeing that. Nice photo. Temps are warming up enough down here that I can finally get out into my own gardens. I can't wait.
It is so cool to have an expert master gardener for a sister, you inspire me! And your gardens are amazing. The extent of my garden planning is I plan to buy more plants this year (from a greenhouse) that my kids are selling as a fundraiser in a few weeks.
Just a wannabe...Laurie
Just arrived at your lovely blog through blog-hopping! We are having a little preview of spring weather at present and so I am itching to get on in the garden. Yesterday saw me leafing through the Chiltern Seeds catalogue looking for ideas for my birthday pressie (one I can enjoy all year).
What an inspirational photo you used here.
I hope I can be entered in your seed give-away too . . .
Hi Connie! I love your garden and the pictures you take ... it's like a dream garden, only for real =) (great inspiration for one of my own someday!!) I think I'm going to have to learn to 'patio garden' while we're living down here in Lewiston. =( That, and also convince Mum to let me help her up there! (shouldn't be too hard I'm thinking =)
Hope you have a lovely day, and continue to enjoy this early gardening even if it's only 'indoors'!
Love, Carrie Jo L.
