Majestic Mount Rainer

I am interrupting my current series of blog posts in order to share few photos of beautiful Mount Rainer, taken last weekend.

We decided to take the "scenic route" route home from the Seattle area, where we were visiting our daughter and family. We drove over Chinook Pass and were rewarded with some beautiful fall scenes at the lookout point.

The majestic snow covered mountain, zoomed in a bit.

The fall foliage, looking down into the canyon. The trees in the background were in the bright sun, while the underbrush in the foreground was in the shade, which made it a bit harder to capture the many lovely colors, but was quite beautiful!

A closer look at the lovely fall colors.....God's handiwork!

Happy Autumn to all of my gardening friends!

Will return soon with more posts on the "Keepers" in my garden... stay tuned. :-)

Everytime we go to visit my mother-in-law in Seattle, we can see Mt. Ranier from her window. I'm always struck by how big it is even from that distance. I wonder what those beautiful plants are in the bottom of the last photo?

your mountain photo should be on a postcard... the crisp blue sky in the backdrop of the beautiful snow landscape. and the foliage is always a treat to capture.

in florida we have to plan a vacation to see such sights.what wonders God has given us to enjoy!

Are you sure you didn't photoshop that pic of the foliage colors? :) Absolutely breathtaking! You could sell your photos to your state's department of tourism.

I really like that photo looking down into the canyon, with the sunny trees in the background. That the background trees are sun-bleached a bit really brings out the color in the foreground!

What a lovely scenic route.
