View from an Upstairs Window

David Perry of A Photographers Garden Blog recently issued a fun assignment....to take a photo from the window of one of the rooms of your house. The view below shows a portion of my garden, as seen from the window of an upstairs bedroom.

I like the slant of the winter sun filtering through the Pines, and the way it lights the greenhouse. Upon closer inspection of the photo, it made me wish I had put away the pots from my container plants last fall. Come to think of it, the greenhouse could use a good cleaning, too....as it won't be long now, before it will be in use again. Now that is something to smile about. :-)

Hi Connie- yes the angle of the sun makes for a very nice picture. That looks like a wonderful greenhouse. Dave has plans for building a small one here. It is on his very long list of projects!

You STILL have so much snow! The picture is lovely even with a dirty greenhouse and pot left out. I think it shows a 'trueness'. I can't get our upstairs window open or the screens off, but I could take one from the open door in the studio, I suppose. That was a great assignment!

Lovely to see that greenhouse waiting for you. I would like a hardshell greenhouse that I can heat (I have a polyfilm one.)

I like that view. I wish we had a spot for a greenhouse.

I want that greenhouse!! It must be so much fun for tending seedlings. Beautiful photo. It's nice to see the sun once in awhile.

the garden looks lovely under its blanket of snow. I love those towering pines...it must be so wonderful to have all those mature trees (mine are all still wee). are those two black bins behind the tree line your composters? if yes, I've got one just like that. we should trade compost notes...LOL.
cheers

O.I.M. - Yes, Irena...those are composters. Funny you should ask, because I am currently working on a post about my compost area and methods. Stay tuned. :-)

Connie, your yard is intriguing even under snow and with the [very minimal!!] clutter. . . and I know what is under there! Can't WAIT to see it in a few months! Have a happy day!

Great photo. I see nothing to criticize. :-)
Do you heat your greenhouse or use it as a coldframe?

Kim and Victoria - I don't heat the greenhouse, as it would cost a fortune. I use electric heat mats to grow flower and vegetable seedlings, starting in early March.

You have raised beds !
So do we. My DH has many of them for tomatoes and some other veggies.
Nice surprise to see them.
