First Snowfall

It was raining when we went to bed last night, but sometime during the night it turned to snow....

This late bloom on my yellow English rose 'Graham Thomas' was heavy with wet snow, and resting on the post of the picket fence.

oooo... how fun... first snowfall. i've never lived where it snows so it is difficult to imagine what that feels like to a gardener. you captured it nicely with your rose and the picket fence.

snow always looks beautiful to this florida native and i sure do love to ski in it.

Looks like a heavy, wet snow. It looks as though we may be receiving some snow on Wednesday. We'll be thinking about all the Thanksgiving travelers.

Somehow the snow on the roses look wonderful even when it signals the end of the blooming season.

we are forecast for snow/rain here in Utah tonight! I wonder if it will really come. Nice to find another western gardener, thanks for stopping by my blog.

I always think of snow as magic...probably because I've never had to shovel it. A photo out of a fairy tale!

Umm, I've just tagged you to reveal 8 random things we don't know about you !

Nice! I wish we'd get some snow this year.

Your snowfall on the roses is truly lovely. Mine is weighing down the last of the "Kiss Me Over the Garden Gate"...very sad looking.

I just found this neighborhood of gardening bloggers, and I am so happy! I love your white picket fence, I would love to have one.

It is very magical to wake up to a new white world. The air smells so fresh and the noices outside sound differently when there's snow.

Lovely pic of poor Graham resting his weary head. ;-)

Beautiful photo! We received our first snow yesterday, I was not home from work in time to get pictures as it was dark when I got home from work. It was the pretty kind that sticks to the trees, darn it :).

The first snowfall is always 'magical' and you captured it beautifully, Connie. Though 'teased' with a few flakes and light dusting, we are in 'a holding pattern'... but I have my camera waiting!

Hello, we have had our first snow already as well. It seems to stick to the mountain tops now. Then again it is that time of the year. Time to cuddle up in front of a fireplace and think of all we can do in the garden next year. Take care, Andrea
